yourLUME Adventure Stories Program offering writers, photographers, journalists, travelers and adventure seekers of all types the opportunity to share their stories with a community of avid adventurers.
To that end, contributors who submit and have their story posted on the site will be given a 10% off-coupon that they can use themselves, give to a friend or donate to an organization toward the purchase of merchandise on the site. YourLUME is also working with their partner brands to provide other fun giveaways and prizes throughout the summer.
Submitting Your Story
We’d all love to read and share your outdoor adventure and glean tips and tricks from it. Here are some helpful tips and guidelines to keep in mind while writing/posting your trip report at yourLUME.com
1. Write About Your Adventure Offline: Write about your outdoor adventure in Microsoft Word, WordPad, SimpleText, or any other text editor. Do not compose it in the message box of this message board. Why? Because if you lose your connection suddenly, or there’s a posting problem, you’ll lose all your hard work! Write it, save it, then post it.
2. Focus to One Outdoor Topic: Please keep your adventure to just one topic (thread). Some of the topics that we are looking for include: Hiking, Kayaking, Camping, Surfing, Snowboarding, Backcountry Skiing, Extreem Adventures from destinations around the world.
3. Choose a Good Name: Give your adventure a good subject—a distinctive title. Here are some examples:
- Swimming with Stingrays
- Kayaking around Tofino
- Mt. Hood, How I spend the Summer of 1998
4. Attach Pictures! Include photos of your trip, this helps tell the story. It makes the adventure more interesting and informative. You are limited to seven (7) images per post.
5. Highlight the Good Stuff: Highlight your hints and tips throughout your adventure.
