GYST is the creator of the X-Changer Pack system (XCP system) the leading transition bag system that simplifies the process of changing clothes before-and-after exercising. Super-practical and constructed of eco-friendly materials, our innovative packs have been designed and tested by athletes in real world conditions. Our brand promotes and advocates a straightforward proposition: be active to feel better and to be energized.
Invented and developed by co-founder and design director Dominique Aris of Los Angeles-based noovodesign.com (a leading sports equipment and design studio), GYST bags were praised as soon as they were introduced to the U.S. market. The collection, including surf, boarding and diaper bags,came from Aris’ own experience as an 800m runner, tri-athlete, surfer, windsurfer, snowboarder and father.
Our focus is the athlete: because you exercise to live better, we respect that and strive to help you get the GYST; by “getting your self (or shit) together,” and embracing the true essential spirit of sport and an active life. GYST originated on 01-01-10 and encourages a new vision for athletes: you exercise to get yourself together.
GYST does not accept the mainstream attitude of “victory at any cost” and the tarnished alues of professional sports. Unlike major brands, we promote competition by the rules and “ organically grown athletes”, without drugs or steroid enhancements. Athleticism over winning. Sportsmanship over the sports machine. Let’s face it, “the Olympic Games are broken ” and have lost their core values; major championships and races are far from their origins and have become empty, commercial enterprises.

- What is the X-Changer Pack System?

The [XCP] is a proprietary technology and process of building a pack that: 1. allows you to open your bag on a soiled surface ( sand/ snow/ concrete/ mud…) 2. creates a clean space for you to step or rest on 3. prevents the outer bag’s surfaces from getting dirty 4. does not require systematic cleaning.
- Is GYST PVC Free?

Yes, we are strict with our vendors and only select PVC-free materials even if they are more expensive.
WHY: Processing PVC can be polluting and a PVC backed fabric is less easily recycled.
WHERE: Fabrics are backed with an inner material keeping the fibers connected and making the fabric water repellent. Most manufacturers use PVC backing, or Tarpauline (PVC). We banned it and use PU or other coatings.
- What are you doing to preserve water?

Not only do we select eco-friendly raw materials, but we also design each of our bags to fold compactly during shipping. Fewer containers shipped across the ocean means less impact on the environment. With a non-GYST bag, we estimate that you might use up to one gallon of water to clean the bag, a mat and your car’s trunk. Using your X-Changer Pack on a weekly basis means you’d save more than 52 gallons per year (190 liters per year).
- When you say that GYST is Planet-Friendly, what do you mean?

Our products were conceived to help you lead a planet-friendly lifestyle. Active people are our primary focus. Our concept takes into consideration not only the materials used in production but also their impact on the elements when utilized. Our products are compact and compressed in shipping to reduce their carbon footprint. In addition, you won’t waste water cleaning them. Using a GYST pack at the gym or to change your baby will avoid soiling a towel—creating another item to be laundered—thus saving water..
